Overview:

The UBC Anatomy Teaching app is a cadaveric-based educational app that uses
images from human cadavers to teach and review human anatomy.

Features:

The app has four main sections.

Explore Lab:

In this section, the learners will learn human anatomy by pursuing the images of
different parts from different regions of the human body. The name of each highlighted structure is written under the image. This section is designed for those who have not seen and do not know the name of the body parts.

Flash Cards:

This section allows learners to quiz themselves on highlighted images of human body parts from different regions. If their answer is correct, they can swipe the card to the right and mark it as a correct guess and the card turns green. If they give the wrong answer, they will swipe the card to the left and mark it as incorrect, turning the colour of the card red. After completing all the questions, the app will give the learner feedback about their score and correct/incorrect responses.

Quiz:

In this section of the app, the learners have the opportunity to expand their
anatomy knowledge by answering questions associated with each region of the human body. The image of each part of the human body will be presented to the learners with a multiple-choice question. If the chosen answer is correct, it will turn green. If the wrong answer is picked, it will be turned red and the correct answer will be turned green. In this section, the learners have the opportunity to learn about the embryological anatomy, functional anatomy, and clinical anatomy associated with the highlighted part of each part of the human body.

Anatomy lab:

In this section, the learners can find links to the dissection videos that have been
created by the developer of the APP and have been posted on YouTube. Each link is associated to a region of the human body, such as axilla, arm, forearm, and hand dissections. In the videos, the learners will learn how to dissect the region in addition to finding and naming the structures. At the end of each video, there is a quiz section that tests the knowledge of learners after watching the video and/or dissecting the region in the lab.

Home Page:

On the home page of the app, there are three tabs that shows random images
from explore the lab, flash cards, and the quiz sections. This page is very beneficial for those who have previous knowledge about different sections and prefer to test themselves by randomly checking their anatomy knowledge of different regions. This section is suggested to senior students and those who are in their clinical years of medical education.

You can even use the app on the go, without internet or data access. When the
learners are connected to Wi-Fi, they can download the images of particular region or subregion of the human body and explore the images of that region while they are not connected to Wi-Fi.
